LAN SU CHINESE GARDEN TEa house

FOOD + BEVERAGE : Immersive EXPERIENCE DESIGN

Making the teahouse Lan Su’s very own.

Reimagining the 20+ year old teahouse inside of our non-profit partner, Lan Su Chinese Garden. As the only Chinese garden in North America with a teahouse, it was important to honor the tradition of the Ming dynasty Suzhou teahouses from which it is modeled after, while creating an experience and environment that is modern and rooted in the Pacific Northwest.

This project had two phases: interior design and build out, kitchen redesign and outfitting, tea sourcing and menu curation, food menu R&D, opening staff hiring and training and setting up all opening operations. Additionally, naming the teahouse, logo and brand build (including photoshoots + video production), plus local media and marketing of the opening. This project is a shining example of the breadth of skills and experience of the Stockpot Co team.

The new name of the teahouse: Yun Shui 雲水, meaning “Cloud and Water," was chosen through extensive community listening and public polling of Lan Su supporters and local garden enthusiasts.

We are incredibly grateful for Stockpot Collective's partnership in helping us relaunch the Yen Shui Teahouse. Their creativity, expertise, and collaborative spirit were critical to the project's success. In an impressively short period, they touched every aspect of the business—revamping the menu, curating a new selection of teas, refreshing the interiors, reimagining the branding, and even assisting with staffing. Their dedication ensured we were able to relaunch just in time for our biggest event of the year, Lunar New Year. They worked closely with us to honor the teahouse's cultural significance while reimagining it as an inviting and dynamic space. The result is a beautiful blend of tradition and innovation that has elevated the Lan Su experience and created a warm, welcoming space for our visitors and community. We couldn’t have done it without them!
